23rd July 2009Weymouth schoolgirl is on song
FORGET Madonna and Britney Spears, a Weymouth schoolgirl is hoping to reach the top of the charts with her song.
Maddie Roberts, 10, from Wyke Regis Junior School, has written and performed her song ”We Are One” and is now hoping sales of the CD will help raise money for Childline.
A group of 20 dancers from Maddie’s school have also been helping promote the CD, but now it’s down to your votes to get them in the charts.
Project chairman and father of one of the performers, Richard Shoulders, said: “I saw Maddie perform at the school’s talent show and thought it would make a great CD.
“It’s fantastic for everybody involved, the children learn lots about themselves and about how they can go on and achieve anything.
“It’s a fantastic project, everybody go out and buy it.”
The CD is available online at www.we-are-one.co.uk and is available by texting indie weareone 1 to 78789 – all for just 97p!
