Spray can vandals caught red-handed

ARRESTS have been made on Portland following a spate of graffiti on Top Hill.

PC Mike Holman told councillors at their monthly meeting that three individuals had been caught, and although the incidents had stopped following the arrests they would continue to stamp out the vandalism.

The arrest came as officers found paint on the clothes of one offender, while two others were  caught red-handed with spray-cans in their possession.

PC Holman said: “The incidents seemed to have stopped after the arrests but those responsible for any other incidents know we are after them.”

Councillor Sandra West said the graffiti was not pleasant as visitors to the island often walked up to Top Hill.

Some of the graffiti had been of a abusive and of a derogatory nature towards residents and police on Portland.
