TWO Kevin Dorman goals gave Sidbury United a 2-1 win at Elmores Reserves - a result which takes United seven points clear at the top of Devon & Exeter Senior Division One.
SIDBURY travel to fourth-placed Alphington this Saturday.
Meanwhile Seaton Town continued their recent good run with a 3-1 win at Cullompton Reserves. The Seasiders are without a fixture this Saturday.
Up in the Premier Division Heavitree Social United’s 2-1 win over Sidmouth Town has plunged the Vikings’ neighbours Beer Albion into deeper mire at the foot of the table.
The Fishermen went down 2-1 at Clyst Valley and had Danny Rowson sent-off to compound their misery.
Albion travel to Bickleigh at the weekend looking to end a disasterous run of nine straight defeats‘on the road’.
In Senior Three bottom of the table Sidmouth Town Reserves’ woes continued with a 6-0 hammering on their own Manstone Road turf by Heavitree Social United. The Vikings second-string take on Barnstaple Town in North Devon at the weekend.
Colyton finally dusted off their boots for the first time this year but, despite Richard Tratt scoring twice, ended up on the wrong end of a 5-4 score line against visiting Uplowman Athletic.
The Reds have must-win game at home to Witheridge on Saturday if they are to re-ignite their fading promotion hopes in Senior Three.
In the bottom half of the table a last minute Charlie Clark goal earned Seaton Town Reserves a 1-0 win over Clyst Valley - their fourth straight three point haul - and any fears of releagtion are now surely banished.
New Axmouth Town manager Merv Joslin saw his side go down 2-1 at Sampford Peverell in Senior Five. It’s now five defeats on the bounce for United who will need to halt the slide to prevent an immediate return to Intermediate football next season. Axmouth entertain promotion chasing Okehampton Aryle Reserves at Boss Hill Cross on Saturday.
In Intermediate One A Robert Adkin hat-trick couldn’t save Beer Albion Reserves from a 6-4 home defeat at the hands of Hemyock. The Fishermen welcome Exmouth Amateurs to Furzebrake at the weekend.
