BRIDPORT: Food festival looking for more sponsors

While a number of sponsors are already onboard, further opportunities to support the festival through financial contributions are still available.

These include sponsorship of the festival’s ‘Feast Bus’ that offers children the chance to get hands on with local food under expert tuition.

Amanda Streatfeild, chairman of the Bridport Local Food Group committee which co-ordinates the festival said: “People from far and wide have come to associate Bridport as a great place for local food and the whole of West Dorset is now an established foodie destination. The much-loved food festival is one of the biggest, most obvious signs of that and sponsorship is a great way for local businesses to become more involved in 2011. Last year we estimate almost 5,000 people, both locals and visitors, came to the events held during the week-long festival so sponsorship makes commercial sense too.”

This year’s Bridport Food Festival is set to take place from June 12-18th with events planned throughout the town and at Asker Meadows.

Confirmed cash sponsors include the Wild Garlic at Beaminster, Scott Vevers accountants, Clipper Teas, Smith & Smith Ltd, Haddon House Hotel, Courier Excel, Longman Cheese Sales, Moores Biscuits and the Bridge House Hotel in Bridport.
