1st October 2010ILMINSTER: First Tuesday generosity
ILMINSTER resident Michelle Endicott was the recipient of the First Tuesday prize of £100 of vouchers to spend in local businesses back in February.
She used the vouchers to pay for material at A Touch of Elegance, in West Street, to cover two sofas at St Margaret’s Hospice in Taunton, helping patients and relatives to relax in The Sanctuary.
Mrs Endicott, herself a nurse who cares for cancer patients in the Yeovil area, was delighted when Sue Woodbury, owner of A Touch of Elegance kindly donated her time and skills to make the covers.
Ms Woodbury said: “I did it because my mum was there two years ago and was well looked after. I was going to do the covers myself, then my back gave out so I must thank my team for helping out.”
Mrs Endicott added: “I would like readers to know how a wider community is being helped by the traders of Ilminster, I dare say the value of making up the covers would have addeda couple of zeros on the cost.”
