2nd September 2010DORCHESTER: There's a lot of love in Dorchester
by Anita Harries
All the colour and sounds of Rio came to the county town as Dorchester held its second Love Parade.
Gay men, lesbians, and bisexual and transgender men and women gathered in Café Jagos for a drumming workshop before assembling at the Town Pump for a procession down South Street and Trinity Street returning to Café Jagos for an all night party.
Stunning costumes, a 55 feet multi coloured banner, and much noise and laughter accompanied the parade as it wound its way through the French market, creating a carnival atmosphere.
Organisers Charity Jay from Weymouth and Chris Kendrick from Café Jagos were pleased with the turn out again this year, and have plans to make it bigger and better again in 2011.
Chris had an incredible line up of entertainment to keep everyone partying into the early hours.
The entertainment was hosted Charity Jay and Beverly Sharn, while first class local musicians, including The Dinnerladies and Jack Daniels and Benny Wain, ensured the whole evening went with a swing.
