A PENSIONER has had is wallet stolen by burglars in the Martinstown area of Dorchester after they snuck into his house as he visited hospital.
The callous offenders forced entry into the 83-year-old’s house through a rear window and stole his wallet containing around £100.
The incident happened in the Park Farm Close area between 10.30am and 2pm on Monday, August 23rd.
Police in Dorchester are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
Police Constable Melanie Caldow, of Dorchester police, said: “The elderly victim was visiting hospital at the time of the incident and he returned to find out that this upsetting crime had taken place.
“Naturally, this burglary has also affected the local community and I am determined to bring those responsible to justice.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Martinstown area – perhaps a visitor behaving in an unusual manner – to contact me as soon as possible.
“All calls are treated in the strictest of confidence.”
