DORCHESTER: Next stop for hospital fundraisers - Mongolia!
TWO intrepid adventurers set off from Goodwood racecourse last Saturday to raise £1,000 for the Dorchester County Hospital Charity by driving to Mongolia. The trip which crosses 16 countries and covers 10,000 miles is part of the Mongol Rally 2010.
Henry Comyn, 18, and Lewis Hinch, 19, known as The Dorset Invaders. will be attempting to drive to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in their 1.2-litre 2001 Nissan Micra over some fairly inhospitable terrain. The duo, both former Sherborne School pupils have no real mechanical knowledge but were having a crash course in car mechanics last week prior to the start. They joined around 350 other vehicles on a lap of the track before heading off on a journey they expect to take two weeks.
