7th July 2010WEYMOUTH: Woman arrested for assault
A WOMAN has been arrested after a man suffered serious injuries in an assault in Weymouth.
The incident in Perth Street at 8.50am on Wednesday, June 23rd, left a 29-year-old Weymouth man with an arm injury which needed treatment at Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester.
Police described the assault as “serious” and said a 35-year-old Weymouth woman – who is believed to be known to the man – was arrested at the scene.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Cullis, of Weymouth CID, said: “Following further inquiries the woman was charged with assault and appeared before Weymouth magistrates. She will appear before Dorchester Crown Court at a later date.
“Anyone with any information, no matter how small or insignificant they may consider it to be, is urged to call me as soon as possible.”
