WEYMOUTH: Thanks for a grand day out

EIGHTY pensioners have enjoyed a day trip to Lyme Regis rounded off with a free fish and chips meal.

The free event was arranged by John and Karen Pearce of Alf’s Fish and Chip Shop on Chickerell Road, Weymouth, backed by donations from S&K Stores and Magna Housing.

John said: “They had a lovely time on the coaches to Lyme Regis and they really enjoyed their meal which we paid for ourselves.

“We often arrange trips like this and we are planning another one soon.

“We would just like to thank the generosity of our customers and the View From Weymouth and Portland newspaper which publicised our appeal for one, two and five pence coins to help pay for the trip.”
