WEYMOUTH’S historic Nothe Fort attraction will be hanging out the flags to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Victory in Europe.

There will be Infantry and Airborne Divisions, the Bomb Disposal Squad, Home Guard, Field Hospital, Radio Society, Military Vehicles and the Matchstick Fleet.
The Fort’s 1940s shop, kitchen and classroom will also be open for demonstrations and there will be lots of opportunity for hands on and interactive activities for children.
On the Saturday Dorset Concert Brass Band will be playing a selection of wartime music for people to enjoy.
Visitors are promised a colourful family day out and they can either bring a picnic to the celebration or eat in the Fort’s British restaurant where “ration bags” are still available.
The celebration is being offered at no extra charge and normal entry fees will apply with a family ticket costing £13, adults £6, senior citizens £4 and children under 16 years just £1.
