SHIPTON GORGE: Members re-elected in church council elections

The annual election for positions on the parochial church council for St Martin’s was taken last week during a meeting at the village hall.

All eight members were re-elected into the positions with Gillian Maxfield staying as church wardens, Vicky Thomas as vice chair and James Webster as the ex-officio.

A team of volunteers willing to fly the flag on St Martin’s church on the appropriate days is being sought.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact Gillian on 01308 897346.

Morning Prayer will be held on Maundy Thursday, April 1st at 11am and the Litany will be read at 11am on Good Friday, April 2nd.  Everyone is welcome to join in on these two short services.

On Easter Sunday, the Communion will be held at 11am.

Parishioners are also warned of the uneven ground around Church Hill, with notices erected.

The ground becomes very soft and easily churnable after rain.

Please take care when walking or parking on Church Hill.
