11th March 2010WEYMOUTH RUGBY: Seasiders get more for their money!
WEYMOUTH Rugby Club got more than they bargained for when new disabled and toilet facilities at their Monmouth Avenue club house were opened last weekend.
Due to the generosity of local businesses offering additional materials and manpower it meant that the Seasiders were able to provide more lavish accommodation than they originally anticipated.
Club members and invited guests enjoyed a pre-match buffet lunch before their match with Westbury on Saturday to mark the official opening of the facilities, which was performed by Stuart Barnes who had been instrumental in driving the project forward.
The club who were awarded a £10,000 National Lottery grant to undertake the work which included a ramp for wheelchair access and improved disabled toilet facilities, were able to achieve so much more with the additional help, and would like to thank Coastal Gas and Electrical, New Image Tiles, Impact Signs, PTS Plumbing Supplies, City Electrical Factors, Mark Collett Plastering and Stuart Barnes Ltd for their generosity, which has transformed the club, and added a much needed facility within the community.
