THE Electric Palace in Bridport is putting on an amazing double bill for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend with the UK Pink Floyd and legendary Hazel O’Connor.
The weekend kicks off on Thursday, April 1st Awith the UK Pink Floyd (formerly Great Gig in the Sky).
When nine musicians come together to recreate the UK’s ultimate and most authentic Pink Floyd show, featuring previously unseen footage, and using state of the art sound and visuals.
Covering the highlights of the bands amazing 40 year career the show features the classic album “Dark Side Of The Moon” played in its entirety, and featuring the incredible voice of Jess Upton.
Jess Upton says “We first performed about 15 years ago, at a sell out show at the Weymouth Pavilion. We were all really big fans of the band, with most of us having seen them at some point.
It started out as something that we just all really wanted to do for fun, and then we thought why not make a show out of it? We’ve been gigging pretty much non-stop since then – all over the UK and over to Europe as well.
We’ve played the Electric Palace for three years running now, and it’s such a brilliant venue for the show. We’ve been looking forward to it all year!!”
On Friday, April 2nd, Hazel O’Connor returns for her second gig at the Palace with her brand new show with the Bluja Project featuring Clare Hirst on saxophone and Sarah Fisher on piano.
Hazel O’Connor became famous in the 1980s when she toured with Duran Duran and then went on to star in the movie ‘Breaking Glass’. The Times recently reviewed O’Connor, praising ‘the expressive power of her singing, songwriting craft and warm strong personality’.
The superb blend of the three voices adds a sweet touch of class to their vibrant performance.
Be one of the first to catch this stunning new line-up, who have just returned, from a series of sell-out shows, in France.
Tickets are on sale now for both shows from Bridport Tourist Information Centre on 01308 424901.
