FOUR thousand children in some of the world’s poorest countries will be protected from polio - thanks to the generosity of the people of Lyme Regis.
The Rotary of Lyme Regis has raised around £1,500 for the campaign to erdicate polio from the world with a fundraising soup and ploughman’s lunch and street collection.
At 40p per vaccine dose, that menas, 4,000 children will not suffer from the disease.
The campaign was boosted by £190 from St Michael’s Primary School which held a “Pink Day” when pupils and staff wore pyjamas instead of school uniform.
