10th March 2010LYME REGIS: Followers of fashion put their talent on show
FASHIONISTAS from The Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis held a catwalk event showcasing the talented students’ own range of designer clothing.
Students from years nine through to A-level sixth formers showed of their creations during this year’s school fashion show
From elegant Victorian ball gowns to plastic bag skirts the creations were designed and made as part of the curriculum courses and lunchtime clubs.
Year 13 student Cara Austin, 18, whose catwalk outfits were inspired by embellishment, said: “I think it’s really good for the students to show off what they have made and it’s just an opportunity to enjoy and experience the evening.
“It’s good to get people to see my work.
"It’s nice to get up there and show people all I’ve done, especially as I worked really hard.”
Also showing her garments was year 13 student Alice Johnson, 18, whose collection of “wearable art” kick started the evening.
Alice also modelled during this, her second show, with her clothes having the theme of winter.
The large audience was entertained throughout by comperes Catherine Butter and Rhys Paterson.
