10th March 2010LYME REGIS: Next PACT meeting to be held in private
THE next PACT meeting in Lyme Regis will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd - but in will be held behind closed doors.
Previous Partners and Community Together meetings, co-ordinated by the the Lyme Safer Neighbourhood Team, have been held at the Woodmead Halls with the public in attendance.
However, the next meeting will involve just the local police and the PACT panel, chaired by Mr John Lello, with all the major agencies in the town represented.
PC Richard Winward explained the change of format was because there were so many other public meetings in Lyme Regis, including the annual town meeting. Also, the public seemed to be quite happy with policing in the town at the moment.
PC Winward gave an assurance, however, that the next PACT meeting in six months would be held in public.
PC Winward is holding a PACT surgery at the Lyme Police Station on Saturday (March 13th) from 2pm to 4 pm for members of the public to raise any issues.
He will also be pleased to accept e-mails about matters such as rubbish or grafitti which he will pass on to other agencies.
