10th March 2010DORCHESTER: Volunteering opportunities at Age Concern
AGE Concern in Dorchester are looking for more volunteers to help deliver a growing range of services to older people across the area.
Lucy Hooper, Office Services Manager at Age Concern Dorchester, said:
“We have a great range of opportunities for volunteers – ideal for people who would like to try something new, or for those who don’t want to lose existing skills.
“We already have around 130 volunteers in Dorchester who are an absolutely fantastic bunch of people, and whose dedication and commitment mean that we can support local older people in lots of different ways.”
The charity is keen for extra help to support existing services, like day care and lunch clubs, but also need volunteers to help with new services that are being developed, such as befriending, Wii fit and bowling.
Lucy said: “If you can give a few hours of your time to help someone else, we can try to find the perfect volunteer role for you.”
