10th March 2010DORCHESTER: An evening of entertainment for Macmillan
A DORCHESTER student has organised an evening’s entertainment to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of her late grandfather.
Jade Thompson is taking time out from her performing arts studies at Weymouth College to organising a day of entertainment.
Jade, who recently lost her grandfather to cancer, said: “I wanted to do something for Macmillan and this was the perfect answer as everyone can have fun and be entertained whilst raising funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
The day will start at 2pm until 4.30pm with stalls and dance displays from Dorchester Stage Coach, Weymouth College and Little Dreads.
Entrance for this session is 50p.
The evening session starts at 7pm until midnight and will feature local bands, Memories of the Future, Miracle Agent and Detention for a Good Girl.
Tickets for the event at Dorchester’s The Corn Exchange on April 9th are £5 and can be purchased from Carpets 2000, Railway Terrace, Dorchester or Aline Taxis or telephone (01305) 260173.
