10th March 2010BEAMINSTER: Do you know these people?
By Tom Glover
BEAMINSTER fundraiser Doug Gibbs is asking residents if they can identify their relatives after digging up a photo from his past.
Mr Gibbs was a highly active fundraiser in Beaminster during the 1970s when he organised a number of “Old-Tyme Balls” at the Beaminster School to fundraise for the British Red Cross.
Mr Gibbs has recently found a picture, which he believes to be from the early 70s, showing members of the Beaminster Senior Citizens Club presenting a cheque to the British Red Cross at a meeting in the former Police station court room.
The photo shows former Knapp Inn proprietor Tom Gibbs presenting a cheque to Red Cross representative Joan Bird.
Mr Gibbs is interested to hear from anyone who thinks they may be able to help identify the club’s members. Email tom@pemedia.co.uk.
