BRIDPORT: John steps inTHERE was a change to the advertised programme at the February meeting of the Bridport Art Society when, due to ill health, Jo Burchall was unable to demonstrate Wire Sculpture. John Grant, vice chairman of Dorchester Art Society, kindly stepped in at short notice to give a talk and demonstration on watercolour techniques. Members and guests learned some unusual and interesting ways of producing a painting using just three colours. The society’s AGM will be held on Thursday, March 25th at the St John's Ambulance Hall, Rax Lane. There will be an auction of various art materials and a competition for the John Marlow Memorial Prize, the subject this year is “Inspired by Shakespeare”. Members and guests will be most welcome.
