10th March 2010BRIDPORT: Film festival set for Bridport this Easter
A FILM festival first will take place in Bridport this Easter with the launch of From Page To Screen.
This will be the UK’s first ever film festival celebrating the transformation of books into films.
From Page To Screen runs over the Easter break and is presenting a fantastic programme for all ages, including new movies such as the 2010 BAFTA award winners An Education, and A Single Man; classics such as A Clockwork Orange and A Room with a View; forgotten gems like The Queen of Spades and The Lady Vanishes; and family favourites like Where the Wild Things Are and Five Children and It.
Star appearances and talks include Lynn Barber on An Education, Julian Kemp on My Last Five Girlfriends and Alan Cubitt on The Boys are Back.
Top regional speakers include TV producer Daisy Allsop, new Dorset novelist Natasha Solomons (whose first book Mr Rosenblum’s List is being translated into nine languages before it’s even been published here) and her husband, screenwriter David Solomons.
The festival also features a full schedule of events including a children’s Monster Mash fancy dress party.
From Page To Screen runs from April 3rd to 9th with screenings and talks at Bridport Arts Centre and the Electric Palace cinema.
