VIEW 2 TV: Who will be new X Factor judge?

by Philip Evans

SPECULATION is mounting over who will replace Dannii Minogue as one of this year’s this year's X Factor judges.

Dannii, who is expecting her first child in July, has confirmed she will be in Australia when the show begins filming later this year.

Speaking at the Elle Style Awards, Dannii said: "I will totally miss Cheryl and Louis and Simon, and not being there for the auditions, but I really need to be near my family in Australia at such an important time."

She insisted, however, that she's keen to be a part of this year's show, even in a limited capacity.

"I don't know what is happening with X Factor," Dannii added. "I just adore it and I had such a fun time last year. I'd love to be part of it somehow, even if I just pop back and visit."

Celebrities including Mel B, Katherine Jenkins, Kelly Rowland and Eminem have all reportedly expressed an interest in becoming a guest judge on the show.

GAVIN & Stacey star James Corden is set for a cameo role in the next series of Doctor Who.

His forthcoming appearance on the cult BBC series was revealed after he was seen reading a script on a train to Cardiff.

No details yet on what part James might be playing but a Dr Who fan saw the actor running over his lines and quizzed him about the part. James then apparently confirmed that he would be appearing.

Bill Nighy and Sophie Okenedo will also have guest starring roles in the first series for new Doctor, Matt Smith, due to air this Easter.

DID anyone else think that Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies looked totally out of her comfort zone in Dancing On Ice?

The statuesque Olympian, I thought, looked slightly embarrassed by some of the skimpy costumes she had to wear. Her height and highly toned physique did not make for a very eloquent sight on occasions.

But she did stand up to acerbic judge Jason Gardiner whose comments often went beyond constructive criticism and strayed into sheer rudeness. On occasions I thought the Plymouth-born swimmer was going to lamp him.

When she finally skated out of the Sunday night spectacle I thought she looked rather relieved.
