WEYMOUTH: Service marks National Holocaust Day

A SERVICE was held in the gardens off Radipole Park Drive in Weymouth to mark National Holocaust Day.

The event took place near a tree previously planted to mark the day.

Weymouth and Portland Mayor Councillor Anne Kenwood attended and the service was taken by her chaplain, the Reverend David Plumb.

He said: “In some ways this service is a chance to remember and learn from those atrocities to ensure that they never happen again.

“With all the wars in the world this is a time of remembering.”

The service ended with a short silence.
