Dunkeswell prepares to rid village of evil spirits
DUNKESWELL Village Hall management committee invites you to the annual Old Twelfie celebrations.
The annual wassailing celebration will take place on Wednesday, January 6th. People are invited to meet at Dunkeswell Village Hall at 7pm for wassailing and hospitality round the village. Everyone will gather back at the hall at 9pm for witches’ soup, witches’ pie, witches’ brew and entertainment. Just before midnight, people will go to the apple trees to take part in the traditional wassailing rituals, listening to the sound of the bells ringing andridding the town of evil spirits and to ensure a good crop of apples.
