3rd February 2012CREWKERNE: Council grants to local organisations
LOCAL good causes are set to receive a boost to their funds, thanks to council tax-payers living in Crewkerne.
Members of the town council last week approved nearly £17,000 worth of grants, earmarked for nine organisations.
The awards are to:
• Henhayes Centre: £1,500.
• Heritage Centre: £1,500.
• West One youth centre: £10,250.
• A Better Crewkerne and District (ABCD): £580.
• Crewkerne Local Information Centre: £144.
• Crewkerne United Dramatic and Operatic Society (CUDOS): £500.
• South Somerset Citizens Advice Bureau: £2,000.
• Town Crier (honorarium to David Craner): £300.
• Crewkerne Twinning Association: £150.
The grants will be awarded at the council’s Annual Meeting on May 21st.
They come to £16,924 in total.
