3rd February 2012CREWKERNE: First apprentice
During Nation Apprenticeship Week, Crewkerne Town Council would like to sing the praises of their first ever apprentice, Lewis Warren whom they said is working out very well.
The 18-year-old started working for the council in September and he attends the Yeovil Lufton campus of Bridgwater College every Wednesday where he is studying for a Level two Diploma in Horticulture.
Lewis said: “Since starting work I have prepared and planted the flower beds and planters in the town centre as well as carrying out planting in Happy Valley and Bincombe Nature Reserve. Also I help with the general maintenance of the council’s grounds and properties. I am really enjoying what I do and like being part of a team”
Crewkerne Town Council property and projects officer Jed Dunn, praised Lewis for his enthusiasm and his willingness to ‘get stuck in’ to anything he is asked to do. He commented : “He is a great asset to the council’s hardworking grounds and amenities team.”
