WEYMOUTH: Pedalling up a healthy breakfast

PEDALS turned furiously, blades whizzed and chopped and the result was a very tasty breakfast smoothie for eight-year-old Ben Ricketts.

He was riding a bike which powered a blender during a Weymouth Value House display in support of Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

The event formed part of a national campaign to encourage people to eat a healthy breakfast.

Store manager Lee Mitchell said: “Breakfast is one of the most popular servings in our cafe, so we were happy to support the campaign because breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”

Ben lost no time tucking into the smoothie his cycling prowess had created and he said: “I enjoyed that. The smoothie was nice. Can I have some more?”
