By Paul Crompton
PLANS to market Beaminster as a “special” place are underway.
Members of Beaminster Chamber of Commerce have voted to become more active in promoting the town.
The move is one of a raft of measures voted on during the Beaminster Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting.
During the meeting 100 per cent of the chamber’s members supported plans for the new proposals.
The main proposal was a series of marketing initiatives including a new website, which will include details of businesses throughout the area.
A business video about Beaminster, a series of targeted mailers about business in Beaminster and a major business event in the town are also included in the plans.
The chamber has also rebranded itself as the Beaminster and District Business Chamber, to reflect the organisation’s wider brief and introduce a new updated constitution.
Nigel Reeve, Beaminster Chamber Chairman, said: “It was time for a number of changes. The members have indicated they want the chamber to get out there and market the town.
“Beaminster is a very special place. It provides a range of high quality individual businesses offering personal service in a wonderful location. These add up to a premium ABC1 brand of which we can be proud.
“These special qualities are the points of difference that separate Beaminster from other small market towns. What we now have to do is tell more people about them without losing the town’s unique character.”
