ILMINSTER: Four of the seine, but different

ILMINSTER Arts Centre is delighted to welcome back some of its most popular performers, this time appearing as The Riverboat Four.

Mike Denham, Steve Graham, John Wurr and Eddie Edwards have all entertained audiences at the regular SpeakEasy sessions hosted by Mike Denham at the arts centre, and have often attracted capacity crowds.

Steve Graham formed The Riverboat Four a few years ago to entertain guests on a hotel barge cruising down the River Seine, and has since performed many times. The group comprises trumpet, piano, clarinet/sax and banjo all played in a vintage jazz style that incorporates ragtime, boogie woogie and popular melodies along with the usual stories and repartee.

Audiences will also be familiar with the four musicians from the groups Classic Jazz and The Sunset Café Stompers, but this will be one of the rare appearances by The Riverboat Four on dry land.

The performance takes place on Friday, February 10th at 8pm. Tickets cost £12, and a pre-show supper is available at 7pm for £9.50. For more details visit www.themeetinghouse.org.uk or call 01460 55783, and to book call the box office on 01460 54973.
