BRIDPORT: Jazz star Clare Teal comes to the Palace

THE UK's finest jazz singer, and much loved performer, Clare Teal is coming to the Electric Palace on Saturday 10th March.

The huge warmth of Clare’s voice was born to convey happiness.  For a no-nonsense Yorkshire lass Clare Teal has the uncanny knack of triggering all kinds of unexpected emotions as she peals back the layers of song upon song.  This will be an event not to be missed … buy your tickets now to guarantee an evening to remember.

Clare made a welcome return to song writing and recording with the release of her tenth album in May this year, a celebration of the Great British Songbook entitled ‘Hey Ho’, a quote from the stunning track ‘If Love Were All’ written by Noel Coward.  Clare has twice been voted British Jazz Singer of the year and also the BBC's Jazz Singer of the year.  Away from her singing work, Clare is becoming increasingly well known to radio listeners for her two weekly big band shows on BBC Radio 2, whether it be Clare Teal Sunday Night at 10pm or Big Band Special on Mondays at 11pm. Passionate about the music she plays on her shows, Clare is on a one woman mission to introduce younger audiences to the joys of big band music.

Clare won British Jazz Singer of the year in both 2005 and 2007, and BBC Jazz Singer of the Year 2006.  Alongside her music, Clare has a successful career in broadcasting, presenting for Radio 2, she also contributes a weekly column to her beloved Yorkshire Post.

Clare Teal will be performing at the Electric Palace on Saturday 10th March with doors opening at 7pm.  Tickets are £16.50 each and are available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre on 01308 424901 or at www.seetickets.com.
