THE UK's finest jazz singer, and much loved performer, Clare Teal is coming to the Electric Palace on Saturday 10th March.

For a no-nonsense Yorkshire lass Clare Teal has the uncanny knack of triggering all kinds of unexpected emotions as she peals back the layers of song upon song. Clare made a welcome return to song writing and recording with the release of her tenth album in May this year, a celebration of the Great British Songbook entitled ‘Hey Ho’, a quote from the stunning track ‘If Love Were All’ written by Noel Coward. Clare has twice been voted British Jazz Singer of the year and also the BBC's Jazz Singer of the year. Away from her singing work, Clare is becoming increasingly well known to radio listeners for her two weekly big band shows on BBC Radio 2, whether it be Clare Teal Sunday Night at 10pm or Big Band Special on Mondays at 11pm. Passionate about the music she plays on her shows, Clare is on a one woman mission to introduce younger audiences to the joys of big band music.
Clare won British Jazz Singer of the year in both 2005 and 2007, and BBC Jazz Singer of the Year 2006. Alongside her music, Clare has a successful career in broadcasting, presenting for Radio 2, she also contributes a weekly column to her beloved Yorkshire Post.
